But they reallyt arnt though. All the character in this box have done something mean, or been spiteful or insincitive and even racist twords another characters. They segregate hemselvs and even have sot core turf wars. Aside from the lack of sex and drugs, they are pritty typical teens far from mary sues because they mess up offten and sometimes they dont learn anything.
I like the dolls and the doll related material, but the webtoons and tv specials are just plain awful. The characterization rarely matches what you are given on the doll's box/journals anymore, all their problems no matter how big are solved by throwing a party, the male characters are being devolved into either minor comic relief(that isn't funny) or mindless accessories for the girls, they completely gloss over some of the major social problems that are occasionally addressed but could be very poignant if done properly, the list of problems goes on and on. I could write an entire essay on how truly terrible the unintended messages really are.
Also, Mattel clearly didn't do the research or didn't care enough about the lore for several of the monster types. They tend to be inconsistent with many aspects of the characters from what they are capable of to who's who in their families. Many of the characters aren't utilized to their full potential or at all in some cases. It's a mess. This could be an amazing series if it was given some thought and consistency. But Mattel clearly doesn't care enough to make it something more then just a slapped together sales promotion.
But the doll designs are really cute for the most part.

You speak the truth my friend.I didn't even hads to see the webshows.Just the commercial was enough.A school for monsters?Okay, but then I SAW what they looked like and I was like OH HELL NO.I thought it was kinda stupid for the "monsters"to look nothing like they should. Then I read the book and was like"The shallowness was drowning me".Seriously, the main girls alone were suffocating. At least the books redemed themslves with the guys. But the webshows?I died.
I don't know why that reminds me Twilight and a conversation that I had with a friend of mine, that I said Robert Pattison said he didn't like Edward Cullen, and I was "Dude, even the actor doesn't like... But that's fair because Edward Cullen is totally a Gary Stu..." u.u
aha I have to agree, although I dont think the audience they where going for was ment to care XD before I knew of the webisodes I got my first doll because..hell it was a dead doll, I had already established my own ideas on their personality but i was so wrong lol, but still I cant help but like the idea of monster high...I'm just too old to enjoy the cartoons because I've seen it all before XD who knows they might improve if theyget abigger animation budget ^^
